MRIs are one of the most important procedures used to diagnose critically ill children and adults. This procedure is scary for a child without the support of parents by their side. For an adult with Post-Traumatic Syndrome Distress (PTSD) or a brain injury, an MRI can be just as scary. Entire MRIs are lost if the patient panics and/or moves.
Advanced technology has developed a technique that almost completely eradicates fears that accompany this procedure. PDC, developed a system that interfaces with the MRI, allowing a patient to watch a movie or listen to music. The system has gotten extremely positive reviews by military doctors and high level appointmeees from all areas of our government. While this technology is available at many private hospitals and some veteran hospitals, very few military and veteran hospitals have the system. Sadly, funds are not available for our military facilities.
We must take care of our active military and their families, especially when in need of medical attention. Our military families deserve nothing but the most advanced technology available in their time of need. They deserve to have what is available in private hospitals.
